Knitting light; looking for inspiration

I have spent the last couple of days trying to find examples of other artists and textiles designers that have worked with knit and light. Much to my surprises I found it quite difficult to find any examples at all, which I guess is good and bad at the same time. Hey hopefully it just means I have come up with something vaguely original... well that how I'm choosing to see it...

on the other hand the pieces I did find were rather interesting, here are a few of them

Knitting Light

So after a few weeks for experimenting with idea of photographing light and shadow I realised I was hitting abit of a dead end and I really didn't no how to push my work forward. Then one evening I was finishing off a piece of knitting and for know really good reason I decided to pull it over my deck lamp and I stumbled over something rather interesting. These are just a few photos of what I cam up with.

Diana in Canada

As I mentioned in an early post I bought a new camera when I was in Canada and I finally got the photos back and they came out better than I expected.

These are only a few of them but the rest are on my flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/man-with-hat/

Canadian light experiment

Recently the focus of my work has shifted and I have found myself fascinate by light, well more the contrast of light and dark. This all began when I was in Canada this summer, I found myself sat one night on the balony, with three anti-insect candles in small metal pots and there was something so interesting about the way these tiny amounts of light were drowned by the dark that I new I have to start taking photos.

(oh yeah just a thought but "Canadian light experiment" would make an awesome band name.)
